Love, love, love seeing a painting on canvas (finally!) and being able to see the various brushstrokes. I find it gives the painting movement while at the same time being somewhat serene. This “tree”, on the precipice of the Grand Canyon, seems at the same time to be in the middle of a storm that will take it away but also to resist and to be hit by a golden light, like a little note saying “hold on, you’ll get through this!”.
Thanks so much, Chantal! I haven’t done canvas painting in a while, nor have I painted something this big (12×16″), so it’s been a fun and challenging journey. I really love your interpretation of this, and your comment is very encouraging. Thanks again!
